2024 Cadillac Escalade Engine Options Available
No matter which 2024 Cadillac Escalade or Escalade ESV engine you choose, you’ll find potent power within. There are three engines available for both of these Escalade models, each carefully crafted to meet a specific set of performance requirements. All three engines come with a dynamic ten-speed automatic transmission. If you choose the 6.2L V8 engine or 3.0L Duramax® turbo diesel inline six-cylinder (I6) engine, they each can be built with either rear-wheel drive (RWD) or four-wheel drive (4WD). If you’re interested in the 682 horsepower that comes with the available 6.2L supercharged V8 engine, it is exclusive to the Escalade and Escalade ESV V-Series models and is only available with all-wheel drive (AWD). 2024 Cadillac Escalade Adaptive Air Ride Suspension Features
The smoother the drive, the better. Adaptive air ride suspension is engineered to reduce the bounce of driving on uneven surfaces. This available suspension is particularly useful for making side-to-side movements less rough, and this is done with the aid of electronically controlled air springs. The adaptive air ride suspension is great for everything from off-roading to highway driving and it is available on every Cadillac Escalade trim except for the standard Luxury trim.

How much can the 2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV tow? The standard-sized Cadillac Escalade can tow up to 8,200 pounds when equipped with RWD, while the larger Cadillac Escalade ESV has a slightly reduced towing capacity, also while paired with RWD — 8,000 pounds, to be exact. These impressive towing capacities are achieved with the 6.2L V8 engine on the Escalade and the 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel I6 engine on the Escalade ESV. Engine Options & Performance
There are three 2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV engines, each with unique capabilities designed for your needs, like diesel power, turbochargers, and superchargers. All three engines come equipped with a ten-speed automatic transmission, which is electronically controlled with overdrive and includes tow/haul mode and tap up/tap down shifting.
3.0L Duramax® Turbo Diesel Engine
Optional on most Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV models, the 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine is the most fuel-efficient of the Escalade engines. This diesel-powered engine can achieve up to 21 city and 27 highway MPG, as well as 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
6.2L V8 Engine
Standard on most Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV models, the 6.2L V8 engine is a turbocharged powertrain with dynamic fuel management and variable valve timing. This powerful engine boasts 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. EPA-estimated MPG ratings for this engine are 14 city and 19 highway MPG.
6.2L Supercharged V8 DI Engine
The most powerful engine in the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV lineup is the 6.2L supercharged V8 DI engine. This engine boasts 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque, and comes equipped with Active Fuel Management™. You’ll reach up to 11 city and 16 highway MPG in this engine. The 6.2L supercharged V8 engine can only be equipped on the Escalade-V and Escalade-V ESV models.
2023 Cadillac Escalade Towing Capacity
When equipped with two-wheel drive (2WD) and the Heavy-Duty Trailering Package, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade can tow 8,100 pounds, while the larger Cadillac Escalade ESV tows up to 8,000 pounds.
