2026 Cadillac XT5 Engines

Two dynamic engine options create a responsive, spirited driving experience in the 2026 Cadillac XT5. The standard engine is a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder that makes 235 horsepower while also getting up to 29 MPG on the highway. For more assertive performance, the XT5 offers a 3.6L V6 with 310 horsepower and a 26 MPG rating on the highway. Both engines deliver their power through a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission to either a front-wheel drive (FWD) or twin-clutch sport control all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

The driving experience in the XT5 is easily customizable thanks to a standard driver mode selector. If your model is equipped with FWD, the available drive modes include tour, sport, and snow/ice; AWD drive modes include tour, sport, AWD, and off-road. In addition to customized traction settings, the XT5 offers a ride-smoothing available chassis damping control system that adapts to challenging bumps and uneven conditions in the road 200 times per second.

Both Cadillac XT5 engines are capable of towing, when properly equipped. Both can tow up to 1,000 pounds with an optional trailer hitch equipped. However, the 3.6L V6 is capable of towing up to 3,500 pounds when it is paired with mechanical upgrades in the Smart Towing System. The features in this package include:

  • Hitch guidance with hitch view
  • 170-amp alternator
  • Heavy-duty cooling system
  • Hitch, hitch cover, and seven-wire harness
